A Message from the Administrator
Image Bearers
Knowledge Seekers
Kingdom Servants
That's the vision we seek to fulfill at Sheldon Christian School.
Each day, our calling is to meet the needs of the kids to enable them to learn and thrive.
For over 100 years we have been a school that pursues a distinctively Reformed Christian education that highlights these hallmarks:
- Parents are a child’s first and primary teacher. The school partners with the home and reinforces what is already being taught at home.
- The school partners with churches in educating children. God’s Truth is proclaimed, and we rally around our Reformed Christian perspective.
- All aspects of a child’s education must be seen through the lens of God’s Word. From math to music, art to acting, reading to recess, lunch to life skills – all must be viewed as important to training as God’s disciples.
- Each child is created unique as a stunning image bearer of Christ. We provide a personalized educational program that respects how each child has been created.
- The highest standards of academic excellence are held. The school must be a place that provides quality, research-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- All students must feel safe in their learning environment – physically, emotionally, and socially.
- Teachers are the living curriculum, the actual hands and feet of the mission and vision. They are fellow disciples, guiding, teaching, and mentoring students.
- For students to live a life of discipleship, they must have the opportunity to practice discipleship now. They must actually live what they are learning, understanding that what they learn is part of God’s Story.
- Families of all economic situations are welcome at our school. We want as many families as possible to access what God is doing within our walls.
- Sheldon Christian School’s doors are wide open for all parents who attend a Bible-believing church and desire a God-centered education for their children.
To learn more about how you can make an eternal investment in the lives of your children through Christian education please see the below virtual tour.
Let’s talk about your children, how God created them, and what God is doing through SCS over a cup of coffee.
Let’s discuss how financially accessing a Christian education is possible for every family.
Let’s walk through the halls and classrooms so you can see teachers and students in action.
Let’s envision what it would look like for your child to be a student at Sheldon Christian School.
I look forward to partnering with you!
-Mr. Marlin Schoonhoven, Administrator
